Possible Alternatives to the Espresso - Part 5

The alternative that I want to propose you today is the most exotic one; in fact it is an Arab recipe, but I think it is a good alternative to the typical espresso, especially during summer. This alternative is ginger coffee, it has a particular, spicy taste and it gives the sensation of freshness after having tasted it (because of the hot sensation given by the ginger).
I suggest you to taste it, because it's worth it!

Ingredients:
  • 230 ml of water
  • 30 gr of ground coffee
  • 20 gr of sugar
  • 7 gr of ginger powder (or grated ginger)
Put water, coffee and ginger in a pot and heat it until the water boils. When it reaches the boiling point take the pot out of the flame and let it cool down until the boiling has stopped. Then put the pot again on the flame and repeat this action for three times. In the end let it cool down for about a minute, so that both the coffee and the ginger powder sink at the bottom of the pot and serve the coffee in small cups. Add sugar as you like.

According to the Yemeni tradition this kind of coffee is usually served with honey biscuits.
